Carrière professionnelle
David Rigaud has practised in the fields of payroll law, compensation and employee benefits for over twenty years and is acknowledged as one of France’s leading authorities in these matters.
David holds a PhD in private law, a post-graduate diploma in Law and Practice of Labour Relations and certificates of specialisation in employment, social security and social protection law.
He plays an active role in constitutional, legislative and regulatory debates in these fields. He is the author and co-author of many reference works (including “Droit et pratique du contrôle Urssaf“, “L’égalité en droit social“, etc.) and articles on these issues in leading journals.
David is regularly invited to speak at conferences (Liaisons Sociales, Sciences Po, EN3S, etc.) and at training sessions for professionals (EFE, Argus de l’Assurance, Le LAB, etc.). He teaches Masters programmes, mostly at the universities of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Montpellier I.
Today, David mainly assists the firm’s clients in the following areas:
- Lobbying (for example, he is currently involved in drafting a law on defined benefit pension schemes);
- High-value assignments (for example, a social security reassessment involving some €200 million);
- Politically and media sensitive assignments for large corporates (for example, pension claim by an iconic chairman of a CAC 40 company).
He was also behind the Conseil Constitutionnel’s decision to overturn a 45% levy on defined benefit pension schemes (Decision no. 2015-498 QPC of 20 November 2015).
