With the June 2023 hire of Miguel Ángel Margáin (from Pérez Correa González), ECIJA further strengthened its TMT offering in Mexico, a field in which it has been steadily growing and diversifying in recent years. The team focuses on clients from the media, sports and e-sports, IT, and telecoms sectors, with advice varying from corporate governance, commercial agreements and compliance, to IP, data protection and outsourcing. Margáin joins a team of five key partners that jointly oversee the industry group: corporate and commercial law expert Ricardo Chacón; Joaquín Rodríguez, who focuses on data protection and e-commerce; compliance specialist Berenice Sagaón; and Kaynicté Pérez who advises national and international companies on new technologies, internet law, e-commerce, sponsorship agreements and contract negotiations. Both Sagaón and Pérez were raised to the partnership in December 2022.
