The members of Deans Court Chambers are frequently instructed to prosecute and defend in regulatory, corporate and gross negligence manslaughter, health and safety fatalities, and food hygiene and compliance cases. Head of chambers Michael Hayton KC often acts in regulatory cases, including HSE and Environment Agency prosecutions; he represented the defendant in a gross negligence manslaughter case arising from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a diesel generator in a commercial premises. Specialist defence advocate Peter Smith is highly skilled in health and safety matters, and he successfully acted for the general manager of a Chester-based amusement park who was charged with two counts under section 37 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 following over 270 injuries sustained on the ‘Tower Jump’ over seven weeks, eleven of which were serious spinal injuries.

Exchange Chambers


The members of Exchange Chambers are frequently instructed across a wide range of cases, from bribery and corporate corruption, corporate and investment fraud, and cartel activity, to money laundering, film investment schemes, and FCA offences.
